While they were introduced in the original Diablo game expansion, Hellfire, runewords didn't come back until Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, which re-introduced Runes into the game. ![]() Though establishing a build is part and parcel of any RPG set up, Diablo expands it further with the ability to create and set runewords, giving you additional effects. (Actually when an item type drops it has a 90% chance of being magical, 10% chance for rare, a 0.1% chance of being a set item, and a 0.05% chance of being unique.Following Diablo 2 builds allows you to get the most out of your chosen class. But please note, a “good” drop rate on set items still only gives somewhere around a 0.5% drop chance so it’s a process. If you have 500% MF and it takes you 5 minutes to do a Meph run, or if you have 300% MF and it takes 3 minutes to do the same run, then go with the lower MF simply because you can do more runs in less time.Įither way, having a decent amount of MF coupled with knowing where to look can substantially increase your chances of finding that drop you want. The more you have the better, however, make sure that you can still kill stuff. ![]() (I think Baal may have the best drop rate for that piece.) The amulet can be found just about anywhere on Normal (however, the best place is from Blood Raven on Normal), but other items, like the armor, are going to require repeated runs in acts 4 & 5 of Hell.
